Calvin and Hobbes Cartoons
By, Bill Watterson
Review written by Donna Whistler
Everyone has their favorite childhood memories.
One of my
personal favorites was reading Calvin and Hobbes cartoons at night while
visiting my grandparents. They had one of the books and I read it over and
over, and also inspired me to get the rest from the library and read those,
too. Clearly a classic, Calvin and
Hobbes books are a fun read for everyone. Not just young readers, the older I
have got the more I can appreciate Watterson’s genius for comic writing.
Calvin is a four year old little boy with an extreme imagination
and a tendency to get in to trouble. Hobbes is a stuffed tiger, but Calvin
thinks of him as his best friend and his imagination creates wild adventures
for the both of them.
From creating killer snowmen, playing “Calvin Ball”, messing
with their babysitter Rosalyn, or throwing snowballs in July at the neighbor
girl, Calvin and Hobbes get into ton of crazy adventures. These
collections of cartoons are sure to please a wide variety of readers and are wonderfully
hilarious.
If you are looking for a quick laugh or a lifetime of
enjoyment, I recommend these books. They are timeless cartoons great for every
generation.
